Located in Atlantic, this large deck girder bridge crosses the East Nishnabotna River.
Built in 1902, this bridge consists of nine medium sized deck girder spans. These spans were originally built double track, but the second track was removed prior to the 1970s. It is likely that the removed second track spans were reused elsewhere. The bridge sits on concrete substructures.
Girder bridges like this were common to cross small streams and rivers. These girders are a standardized design.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition.

The author has ranked this bridge as locally significant, due to the common design.
